While our dedicated sales team and distributor network remain essential, expanding to Amazon allows us to meet our customers where they already shop.

“We’ve been selling online in the U.S. for 10 years through our own store,” says Risa Edelstein, Director of Marketing at ECHOtape. “But knowing how many businesses already rely on Amazon for their purchasing, it made sense to expand there as well. It’s all about making it easier for our customers to get what they need, when they need it.”

ECHOtape has always focused on small and medium-sized business customers, and that remains true on Amazon. “We sell only a fraction of our full tape selection online, carefully curating our best sellers to meet the needs of most businesses,” Risa explains. “That said, we’re still here to serve every customer’s needs—if you’re looking for a specialty product or something not available online, we’re just a phone call or email away.”

For five decades, ECHOtape’s outbound sales team has been the backbone of its business, to great success. “While that model has worked well, it’s not the best way to serve the thousands of small and medium-sized businesses across the country that could benefit from our products,” Risa adds.

In 2023, we focused on creating a seamless online shopping experience at ECHOtape.com while carefully introducing our products on Amazon with a limited selection. In 2024, we took it a step further—expanding our product offerings and optimizing our digital storefronts. Now, with a full launch on Amazon, including both individual rolls and cases, we’re making it easier than ever for customers to get the tape they need, anytime and anywhere.

What Specific Benefits Does This Bring to Our Customers?

Expanding to Amazon wasn’t just about growing our business—it was about making life easier for our customers. Many of the contractors, businesses, and distributors we serve don’t have the time to drive to a store to pick up their tape, and local suppliers don’t always have the exact size or color they need. “Many of our customers already have Amazon accounts, so this was a natural fit,” says Risa. “Amazon is a trusted platform, and it allows our customers to place orders whenever it’s convenient for them—whether that’s late at night, on a weekend, or between job sites.”

We’ve also seen a clear shift in how businesses are purchasing. More than 60% of our online sales come from mobile, which tells us that many of our customers are ordering on the go—whether they’re in the field, between job sites, or handling business after hours. With most people already having the Amazon app on their phones, buying tape has become a seamless, one-click process. This flexibility is key, especially as more and more orders come in outside traditional business hours.

The results speak for themselves. Since launching on Amazon, we’ve seen steady growth in this area, expanding our reach to small businesses nationwide.
